Italian Beginning III / ITALIAN LIVE ONLINE Fall 2020

Italian Beginning III / Fall 2020

with Cristina Baccin

Grazie a tutte e tutti! Cristina

We just finished our Italian Beginning Level 3 course: it was a synchronous online course using the Zoom.us platform with many activities to do at home (when possible, we also worked as a flipped classroom). It was a wonderful and fun experience with a group that worked, played and smiled even in the face of difficulties. Although for some was the first time to learn online, they showed an enormous flexibility and patience to adapt to the changes that this pandemic challenges us with. For me, it was a huge pleasure to prepare proposals, collaborative activities and games and to help maintain the attention and rhythm of an online class for such an active group. We travelled together with our dreams… Thank you all and everyone! Cristina

This course was held on MONDAYS (5:00-6:30pm), from September 14th to November 16, 2020.

  1. This class was so fun! I really enjoyed taking it in the comfort snd convenience if my own home. Cristina varied the pace and activities well. She always encourages our efforts to speak without intimidation. The textbook snd workbook exercises are well done, snd she supplements these with slides, games, snd break-our rooms for more practice. It was a completely beneficial experience.

  2. Ciao! I just completed my 4th Italian language class with Cristina and have loved every bit of it. Cristina is an outstanding instructor, one who keeps you engaged and challenges you to learn, all the while making it fun. Like everything else in life, you get out of it what you put in, but the textbook, workbook and videos that Cristina uses help to keep you on track. Our daughter moved to Naples just before the Pandemic hit, so I am motivated to learn as much as this old brain can retain so that we may hopefully travel to Italy and explore its beauty with our daughter and her family. While I still struggle with the conversation piece of the language a bit, Cristina does offer opportunities to keep practicing outside the class. I highly recommend Cristina’s classes if you have the desire to learn a new language or just have time on your hands and want to try something new. Auguri!!

  3. It is impossible, in this short space, to do justice to Christina. She is a lovely human being and an outstanding instructor. Christina is incredibly creative in her teaching methods and it is obvious she spends many hours in preparing for her classes. She makes sure no student is left behind, regardless of your facility with the language. Christina makes herself available before and after class to work with you on any rough spots you might encounter. Christina makes learning fun with games and activities all designed to help you along in your language journey. Thoroughly enjoyable. I will be back. Brava, signora. Brava!

  4. I loved this class and the teacher is superior. Cristina spends a lot time devising activities, games and interactive exercises to make the class valuable and FUN. Put all fears aside. The exercises in the workbooks enhance the learning and are doable. I loved the zoom learning. Everyone has the opportunity to participate both with the group and in breakout rooms. The goal is to encourage learning with fun and laughter. Take the class. You will make new friends and revisit with some former classmates. This is really a must if you wish to learn Italian.
