What: If you are planning a trip to Italy or you just always wanted to learn this beautiful language, then come and join my class. Learn Italian with games, role playing, and recipes. Start conversing on everyday subjects in Italian. Explore a new world through learning Italian and have fun exploring Italian culture!

When: Monday and Wednesday, April 23 – May 23, 2018

5:30 -7pm (5 weeks=10 classes=15 instructional hours)

Where: New Mexico Community Foundation-Conference Room (135 West Palace Avenue, 3rd Floor, Suite 301 • Santa Fe, NM 87501). See Map here  . It´s at the intersection of W. Palace and Grant, across the street from Palace Restaurant; go to the back of building courtyard and take the elevator to 3rd Floor. Parking: Meter parking is free after 6:00pm, or there is a Garage across from the Lensic Theatre on San Francisco)

Students: This course is aimed at students from 16 to 100 years old (or more!).

Who is your instructor: Cristina Baccin is Certified in Teaching of Italian as a Foreign Language (DILS-LI) by the University for Foreigners of Perugia (Italy). She has taught Italian for more than 10 years in the United States including, children and adults for the Fairfax County Public Schools (Virginia, USA), Central New Mexico Community College (CNM, New Mexico, USA), and currently teaches for the University of New Mexico (CEd, New Mexico, USA).

Cristina also offers personalized one-on-one instruction, small group classes at the Beginner,  Intermediate  and Advanced Levels, Italian for Travelers, and Special Workshops based on a variety of teaching resources such as, movies, graphic novels, body movement and outings.

ITALIAN Beginning I focuses on:

  • Greeting people and introducing oneself
  • Ordering food in a café and in a restaurant
  • Thanking; Asking for things
  • Asking for a price
  • Describing people´s activities, profession and one´s occupation
  • Telling dates
  • Cardinal numbers (0-100)
